Fall 2014 Community Involvement

Research Underwriters continued its commitment to local communities, participating in events to support the Lupus Foundation, the YMCA, and the Eleanor Friedberg Scholarship Foundation. In July, Research Underwriters participated in an event benefitting the Lupus Foundation of Pennsylvania. RU has been proud to sponsor and support events supporting the Lupus Foundation for many years. We also recently participated in an event to benefit the YMCA’s Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer. This camp has programs designed for all children, and has developed programs for children with special needs and disabilities. RU has been a sponsor and contributor to Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer for over 10 years.

Research Underwriters was also proud to support and participate in the __ Annual Eleanor Friedberg Scholarship event. The scholarship foundation was created to honor Eleanor Friedberg, wife of RU founder Stan Friedberg and mother of current RU President Steve Friedberg. Eleanor had a great love and passion for the arts, and her scholarship fund now supports graduated of Pittsburgh high schools and their pursuit of an education in the arts.
